One easy trick to make you sit up straighter in your car is to adjust your rear-view mirror ¼-inch higher than it currently is. By doing this, you will have to sit up straighter to fully see out the rear window. The most challenging part of this exercise is to resist the temptation to lower it back to its original position later that day. Your drive home from work will be significantly less harmful to your spine if you leave it at the higher position. Give it a try and after a few days you will notice it gets easier to fight the urge to lower the mirror. Less slouching means less back pain!
