Boo!  It’s the time of year for goblins and ghouls.  Enjoy the costumes, parties and treats.  Just be sure to enjoy the treats in moderation.  The amount of sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and every other type of sweetener used in those treats is off the charts!  The number of health problems caused by excess sugar (and the like) is also off the charts.  One of the many side effects of too much sugar is that it raises inflammation levels throughout the body.  This will increase the symptoms of common conditions such as arthritis and sprains.  Thus, there is a reason why eating that Snickers bar may make your knees hurt.  Be careful, have fun and be safe!
